Well we survived another awesome Planet Comicon here in Kansas City, and we had a great time! Got to visit all of our Deviant art buddies who made it this year and talk to many other awesome artists and writers. Myself and  :iconexstephon: Exstephon had a good turnout this year at our booth,  it was a long but fun 3 days of working and networking with friends and comrades. This year it ran for 3 days Friday, Saturday and Sunday and there was a lot of excitement with this one. We got a lot of interests with our books and sold quite a lot of them, and surprisingly the lead book that sold....Ninja Jesus! Exstephon even managed to knockout a few commissions while we were there.

We've been pretty busy trying to get Screamin Rabbits Studios up and running, I've been working on logo designs, website content and just about anything else I can help with at this point and with me being off work for the next few weeks (I tore the plantar fascia tendon in my foot) I can focus on the company stuff for now. I wanted to also send a shot out to :icongoodgrace1: Good Grace for all the awesome inking and coloring work he has done for us during the past few months, he made our stuff look great!

Hey everyone!

Yeah I know its been awhile, but I've been busy doing some personal work and collab projects with bud :iconexstephon: and his company Screaming Rabbit Studio. The both of us along with our writer Derek Wallace are proud to be able to finally present our newest comic book Old Man and The Talking Dog. This is a project at least 2 years in the making and along with other projects in the mix these are definitely keeping us busy. We want to share our excitement and joy of producing this comic and would like to invite you all to check out our Kickstarter site: Old Man and The Talking Dog help us finish the project up right. I never realized just how much work actually goes into creating a comic book, everyone knows about the drawing and layout phases but how about the logos, marketing, copyrights, trademarking and publishing...wow, so many fine details that go into the development process...its crazy...lol.

Anyways thanks to everyone in advance who checks us out and for those of you who may have some advice on this process please feel free to let us know either here on :iconexstephon: page on our facebook page: Sceaming Rabbit Studios facebook

Well another awesome comicon has come and gone, it was another awesome con! Met up with my boy :iconjeffreyedwards: and his wife as well as :icondej22: and :iconjonhughes: who were there as well. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a booth this year so I spent most of my time exploring the new diggs of this years con, but it was cool. I did manage to see a few of the celebrities like Adam Baldwin, Ray Park and Lou Ferrigno, but I didnt manage to once get a glimpse at George Takei, or Wil Wheaton.   It was awesome non the less and I got a pic with the big man himself Big Lou Ferrigno....that was a dream come true since on top of art, bodybuilding is another passion for me.

Holy S$!T, my last entry was April of 2012!!!! Well sorry bout that, I am going to try and put up some more inking pieces as I find interesting pencils to do. I never ink by hand usually only by illustrator or photoshop, but after looking at some tutorials on youtube by Freddie Williams III and the cartoon block channel I decided to give it a try so alot of my inks are going to suck at first but bare with me please, I am still learning...lol

I have my first Copic sketch marker which is what I am planning on using for the majority of my inks, though I did also purchase a Speedball Crow Quill pen and a Sofia Royal & Langnickel #2 round brush (I couldn't afford one of the better brands right now) so I can experiment with a more traditional style later.

Yet another fine experience at the Planet comicon here in Kansas City, it was awesome!! The guest list included Edward Jame Olmos, Billy Dee Williams, Blair Butler, Jake Lloyd, Gil Gerard, Erin Gray, and Felix Silla. ( in case you didn't know the last 3 they were all stars of the old Buck Rogers television show)

This time around I was actually behind the booth instead of just visiting them with my bud Steven Anderson  as we are promoting his comic Urban Knights, it was a different experience for me since I really didnt know what to expect my first time out. We did pretty well and received alot of helpful advice from our fellow artists at the convention. oh yeah...and there was plenty of  cosplay again this year with a lot of starwars, marvel, and DC characters walking around for our entertainment.

Crazy man Jeffrey Edwards :iconjeffreyedwards: along with :icondej22: (dude thanks for the books) Joh Hughs :iconjonhughes: Brian Atkins :iconbrianatkins: and the Skribblbros :iconskribblboy: and :iconcrayola-madness:  where here again too. It was nice to see familiar faces at the CON and be able to visit my fellow deviants. Next year I intend to have a few pieces of art to sell myself so I guess I need to get busy.

I also got to speak with artists:
Freddie Williams II, who was just great .
Dan Scott-One of my all time fave fantasy artists.
Mark Dos Santos
Tone Rodriguez
Andy Brase
Jonathon Fowler
Arthur Suydam

I can't wait till next year, I hope I will be able to attend more than just one convention, we are looking at St Louis, Kansas City and possibly Denver next year....lets get busy!
